NEET 2022 Exam: Result (Released), Counselling (Soon), Cutoff, Dates, Question Paper, Pattern, Syllabus
The NEET 2022 counselling process is expected to begin soon. As per reports, MCC is likely to announce the NEET counselling 2022 dates on or before September 25. NEET 2022 result was declared on September 7. The qualifying NEET cutoff marks 2022 was also declared on the same day. As compared to last year, the NEET cutoff 2022 has been lowered. The highest marks obtained in the exam is 715, which has been scored by four candidates ranked from 1 to 4. Tanishka from Rajasthan has secured AIR 1 followed by Vatsa Ashish Batra from Delhi (AIR 2) and Hrishikesh Nagbhushan Gangule from Karnataka has got AIR 3. Out of 18,72,343 applicants, 17,64,571 candidates appeared for the test and 99,3069 have qualified for NEET 2022. The NEET 2022 final answer key has been released on September 8 in PDF format for the question papers of the original exam day (July 17) and retest (September 4).
As per the data released by the Ministry of Education, Jaipur saw the largest number of test-takers, which was 52,351. On the other hand, the lowest number of candidates appeared in West Sikkim, which was 105. Dubai had the highest number of NEET candidates from the category of ‘Candidates Outside India’. The number stood at 646. On the other hand, Bangkok, Thailand saw the lowest turnout in the international cities where NEET 2022 was conducted, with six candidates appearing for the test. Around 95 per cent of the total registered candidates have appeared for the exam. A number of candidates complained of mismanagement at the exam centre in terms of interchange of question papers, inappropriate frisking and security check measures, to name a few, leading them to conduct a retest. NTA took action against some of the exam centre authorities after creating an Investigation Committee. The possibility of a retest is bleak.
What is NEET UG and What's New This Year?
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the sole entrance test for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in India. The exam is conducted once a year in offline mode for a duration of three hours and 20 minutes. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the medical entrance exam for admission to MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing, BAMS, Veterinary, and other medical/paramedical courses in India. Over 15 lakh candidates appear for the NEET UG exam every year. The exam is conducted in 13 languages.
There are certain changes in NEET UG Exam 2022 which are listed below:
- The duration of NEET has been increased by 20 minutes. Instead of three hours, the exam will now be conducted for three hours and 20 minutes.
- The application fee across candidate categories has been increased by INR 100.
- The registration process will not be conducted over two phases.
- The tie-breaking formula has been revised and six other factors have been added to the existing three factors
- The number of exam cities has increased to 543 in India and 14 abroad.

NEET 2022 Counselling Process
NEET 2022 counselling process and dates are expected to be announced by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) in the fourth week of September. The counselling will be conducted for 15 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) seats and 85 per cent State Quota seats. MCC will conduct the AIQ counselling process and the respective state authorities will conduct the State Counselling for NEET 2022. There will be four rounds of counselling, Round 1, Round 2, mop-up round and stray-vacancy round. Upon the release of the NEET 2022 counselling notification, qualified candidates will have to register by filling up the form, uploading the necessary documents and paying the registration fee. The next step is the choice filling and locking. Once the seat allocation order is released, candidates will have to download it and report to the institute and complete the admission formalities to claim the seat. They may not accept the seat in the first round and participate in the second round for upgrading their seat. In case candidates are not allotted a seat in both rounds, they will be eligible to participate in the mop-up and stray-vacancy rounds.
NEET 2022 Result
NEET 2022 result was released on September 7. To download the NEET 2022 result, candidates have to log in through the application number and date of birth. The NEET result or scorecard carries test takers’ subject-wise and overall scores, percentile and All India Rank (AIR). This year, 17,64,571 candidates appeared for the test and 99,3069 have qualified for NEET 2022. NEET 2022 Answer Keys
The provisional NEET official answer key 2022 and OMR sheets were released by NTA on August 31, 7 pm. The answer key and OMR sheet challenge submission had to be done by September 2, 11.50 pm by paying INR 200 per question or response. The final answer keys were released on September 8, a day after releasing the NEET 2022 result. NEET answer keys refer to the correct answer choice for each question of the exam. By utilising the marking scheme, test-takers can calculate an estimated score. The NEET 2022 answer keys are released both officially and unofficially. On the day of the NEET 2022 exam, coaching institutes released unofficial NEET answer keys, which can be utilised to calculate an estimated score.
NEET 2022 Question Papers
NEET 2022 question papers were released by NTA on the day of the exam and candidates can carry the hard copy of the question paper with them outside the exam centre. The question paper of NEET is divided into four sets, each further divided into six codes. The NEET 2022 question paper codes were named Q (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4, Q5 and Q6), R (R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6), S (S1, S2, S3, S4, S5 and S6) and T (T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, T6). Although the questions vary in the different sets of question papers, uniformity in terms of topics and difficulty level are maintained across the question papers. The NEET 2022 question paper booklet carried a total of 200 questions out of which 180 questions have to be attempted from the Physics, Chemistry and Biology sections. The language or medium of the NEET question paper was 13 including English and Hindi. Last year, two new languages were added, Punjabi and Malayalam. Candidates had to submit the OMR sheet but carry the booklet outside the exam hall. NTA releases the NEET question papers of previous years on the official website of NEET and aspirants can solve those for practice purposes.

This year, BSc (Hons) Nursing course admission will also take place through NEET but the seat matrix is yet to be released. As per the current data, there are 92,627 MBBS, 52,728 AYUSH, 27, 948 BDS, 603 BVSc, and 487 BSc nursing.

NEET 2022 Eligibility Criteria
NEET UG 2022 aspirants who wish to apply for the entrance test are advised to check if they fit into the criteria specified by NTA. Candidates who fulfil the following parameters are eligible for the exam.

The minimum age of a candidate as of December 31, 2022, should be 17 years.
- The upper age limit of 25 years for General category candidates and 30 years for reserved category candidates have been removed by NMC.
